Maria Menounos

Maria found out she was facing medical issues of her own while she took care of her mother suffering from stages 4 brain tumors. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. In the cover report of PEOPLE Menounos discusses how she was suffering from headaches and lightheadedness on sets. "My speech had become slow and I was experiencing trouble using the transcript". A MRI confirmed Menounos to have a huge-sized meningioma brain tumor that was growing to the size that of a golf ball. It was pressing the facial nerves. Menounos scheduled an appointment with her mother's doctor, famous surgeon Dr. Keith L. Black who scheduled the surgery for June 8th, her 39th birthday. "He advised me, 'I'm 99 percent sure it's a benign tumor, however we'll never know until you're inside and see what happens,'" she says. The complex operation took about seven hours, and the doctor. Black was capable of eliminating 99.9% of the benign tumor. According to her, Dr. Black claimed that it's feasible to observe the tumor reappearing in six to seven percent of cases. But I will consider these odds any day of the week. Now back at home after having spent six days in a hospital Menounos is recuperating and spending some time with her mother Litsa, whose latest MRI proves her cancer remains stable. Maria Maria Maria
